Making the Best Music Possible

Joshua Fung is a pianist-composer who believes deeply in music's power to convey emotions and connect with audiences. He has produced over 30 works spanning from solo piano pieces to orchestral compositions. His contemporary musical language draws from neoclassicism, impressionism and minimalism, creating a distinctive voice in Hong Kong's classical music landscape. His works have been performed by the Cong Quartet and his compositions often explore themes from the natural world, spiritual realms and life experiences.

Joshua is currently studying composition with Mr. Adrian Wong and piano with Mr. Andy Chung. He has also learned from other great masters such as Maria João Pires, Kit Armstrong, Ms. Charlotte Hu, Ms. Colleen Lee and Ms. Nancy Loo.

 

Joshua holds a degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His past mentors include Prof. Victor Chan Wai Kwong and Chan Kai-Young in composition, Prof. Carmen Koon Mee Yu and Ms. Vivian Ip Wing Wun in conducting.

 

馮氏是一位才華洋溢的鋼琴家兼作曲家,深信音樂具有表達情感和連繫觀眾的力量。他活躍於作曲及演奏領域,至今創作超過三十首作品,涵蓋獨奏鋼琴、室內樂以至管弦樂作品。其當代音樂語言糅合新古典主義、印象主義及簡約主義,在香港古典樂壇建立獨特風格。近期其作品獲Cong Quartet演出,標誌著作曲生涯的重要里程碑。馮氏的作品常以大自然、心靈世界及生活經歷為創作主題,展現其廣闊的藝術視野。

 

馮氏修讀於香港中文大學音樂系。其作曲造詣得自陳偉光教授、陳啟揚教授指導,並曾師隨官美如教授及葉詠媛女士學習指揮法。現隨黃子峻先生學習作曲,鋼琴則師隨鍾學進先生。此外亦曾得到多位大師指點,包括 Maria João Pires、Kit Armstrong、胡瀞云女士、李嘉齡女士及羅乃新女士等。
